why-build-online-marketplace-buy-sell-crafts

Handicraft production is a significant form of employment in many developing countries and often a major part of the export economy. Globalization along with growing markets for home decor products-especially in the United States, Canada, and Europe-also creates many new opportunities. Particularly, the demand for “cultural goods” is predicted to grow with rising international tourism and an increasing basis on interior decoration, and as a reaction to the uniformity of mass-produced products.

Why Build an Online Marketplace to buy and sell Crafts?

Handicrafts have always been a prime target for overpricing due to numerous middle men. There are countless artists who have specialisation in one form of product. Elimination of middlemen & direct connectivity to the producer, would ensure maximum benefit to the artisans.

With soaring demand for Online businesses, Online marketplaces are witnessing a sharp rise and traffic in recent days. Besides that, people expect to purchase and sell anything and everything online. Online marketplaces have remarkably become an essential part of the business since it attracts many customers.

People have switched to convenience more than that of money, and hence, they demand all needful and fancy items to be within their reach. One of such fancy needs of all time is “Handicrafts”.

It can be beneficial to create a marketplace for buying and selling craftworks online as that would ensure the engagement of both customers and craftspeople and hence will ensure a healthy business.

Some Secondary Conditions of Menopause:

Women face a lot during menopause. An emotional burden makes them vulnerable to changes as well. Most women suffer silently on the issue and don’t even speak. Even developed nations fail to deliver the proper support for the problem of menopause.

In another recent survey, it was revealed that out of 60% of women who receive medical attention for menopause, 75% are left untreated. Self-treating can harm to an extent and most women resort to self-treating ways. Healthcare systems around the world lack that kind of medical attention that is required for treatment of menopause.

The Change in this Direction:

Women in their 40’s and 50’s are tech-savvy so they want a change in healthcare-related issues of women. Women know how to balance their life be it personal or professional. There has been a significant use of smartphones over the years. Digitalization of technology along with health is a strong issue today.

Femtech is constantly evolving, and innovations are being introduced in this area of healthcare to provide great support to problems related to menopause, periods and pregnancy. In the first quarter of 2019, there was massive funding in this sector so there is a change in this direction and a positive one.

Hormone therapy can give symptomatic relief from VMS but it can also increase the risk of stroke and cancer in the body. Bioidentical hormone therapies also have certain side effects. The Femtech industry has brought a positive change in menopause management. Through digital startups and health integration, women’s healthcare concerns will further change.

Femtech Companies that are Powering Women’s Healthcare Management:

Rory started as women-centric health care company that costs 15 dollars as consultation fees. The best part about the company is it can make a personalized treatment recommendation. They recommend different treatments to women according to symptoms. The recommended treatments are valuable for hot flashes, sleep, vaginal dryness and loss of eyelashes.

They provide both OTC and prescription medicines according to your symptom of menopause. The cost of medicine is inexpensive so it is quite affordable as well. They deliver the medicines to woman’s addresses discreetly and quickly, so it is safe. The cost of medicine by this startup company starts at $13.

Genneve launched an online assessment for menopause and online telehealth clinic for the betterment of women. Women can take a telehealth appointment via video chat with the healthcare doctors in their particular state. Most doctors that provide this menopausal assessment are certified by the North American menopause society.

The company also provides video consultations to women for a set price. The company provides curated content along with nutrition advice for lifestyle consultations. The company was earlier an online content publication but now it only sells female healthcare and feminine products. If you want a personalized consultation on menopausal issues along with lifestyle recommendations then this is the perfect option for you.

New Technology Integration:

There has been integration with technology as well. A Silicon Valley startup menopause.aihelps to understand women’s health in a better way and also gives personalized OTC solutions for menopause problems. Women are open about feminine health problems today, be it menopausal health or breast care.

Femtech startups have made things easier for women. They no longer rely on traditional ways for treatments. Hormone replacement therapy can have side effects on the body. Recommendations from these startups can help to provide feasible health solutions to women without side effects.

The stigma that is associated with menopausal health has to be changed. Women and companies need to come in open to support the issue. Digital solutions can surely change the way things are taken care of.

Technology integrated with personalized approach can help many women deal with the problem of menopause. The biological transition will change the health care sector for sure at least for women.

What Makes the ideal NGO Application?

When it comes to world issues, charities and non-profit organizations have been at the forefront of organizing and distributing support across the globe for decades. According to a nonprofit source, America alone was responsible for $114 billion of donations to various charities in 2017, and in 2018, the Let’s Do It! the foundation was able to gather 15 million people together for World Cleanup Day. With thousands of these organizations running at any one time, it’s worth asking how they’ve been so successful. The answer to that lies in their ability to adapt to the world around them, and more recently, by adopting modern technology for their causes.

What-Makes-the-ideal-NGO-App.jpg

Considering the dominance of mobile app usage, custom NGO application development is the one thing that comes to mind that automatically unlocks seamless solutions for Non Profit organizations.

NGO Mobile Application can be the Ultimate Solution

Traditionally, non-profit organizations, or NGO’s, have had to rely on minimal advertising and physical donations in order to achieve their goals. However, with the invention of smartphones, NGO’s now have access to developing their own mobile applications which vastly expand their capabilities.

Not only can NGOs increase the amount of advertising for their respective organizations, as well as accept digital donations, but apps make it easier to routinely engage with volunteers, and makes managing large events a breeze. Mobile Apps for NGO’s are far more than just an ad and a donation button, however, and app development for charities has a surprising amount of thought behind it.

Now, one might be wondering about the cost to develop a simple charity donation mobile application if they are active in this domain. A simple charity domain can add much more capabilities by having a custom mobile application developed.

What Makes Great Mobile Apps for NGO’s?

Pioneering in the domain of mobile applications development for 10+ years, we at Let’s Nurture can tell you that – Like the development of any mobile application, NGO application development for charities follows a series of stages from start to finish, with each stage focusing on a key aspect of the app’s design and functionality.

Mobile applications for Not for Profit organizations, specifically, go through below 4 major developmental stages prior to completion.

Stage 1: User Interface and Overall Design Theme

First impressions are always important, and the case is no different for technology for not for profit organizations, so the overall design of your app needs to be especially appealing. There are two main areas to focus on here: The user interface and data visualization. The user interface, or UI, should be simple and easy for users to navigate without much thought or effort. One way to accomplish this is to place important and frequently used features right on the front page on an easy to see navigation bar for easy access. In addition to this, each of those elements can open in a separate tab in order to avoid having too many elements on one page, which can be distracting to users. Sticking with bright colors and utilizing “cute” illustrations are also a great way of making your app more visually appealing to users, keeping them coming back and not just deleting it after the first use.

Data visualization refers more to the back end of things and is much more useful for the app’s owner than it is the user. However, there’s still plenty of pertinent information that users can view, such as where their donation is going and what goal it helped accomplish. While the NGO application’s owner can view what kind of effect the app is having on donations and awareness, the data relevant to users can increase the incentive to donate as well as build a sense of pride and being part of a bigger movement.

Stage 2: Software and Functionality Development

When you get to actually start NGO application development process, there are certain tools you can use in order to make the process more streamlined, and thus faster and less costly. In addition to this, there are several bases that should be covered before deeming this stage complete.

Use API’s When Necessary. Application Programming Interfaces, or API’s, are used to alleviate the need to build a given element from scratch. For example, Google Maps can be used in place of building your own custom one. The drawback here is, of course, a non-customizable map, however, the benefit is that up to a month of work is compressed down into a day or less, making this a highly budget-friendly option. Another form of API is a payment gateway such as Braintree, Stripe, and Ayden, which is essential for accepting digital donations, as it allows users to pay with common payment methods, such as a credit card or Apple Pay.

Include a Wide Range of Compatible Devices. Compare any two people, and you can almost guarantee that they have different mobile devices, either in the model or in brand altogether. With such a vast selection of mobile devices available on the market, you’ll need to be sure that your app is compatible with at least the majority of them. Issues tend to occur here because of an issue called Android Fragmentation, which is what refers to the significant differences between many android devices and how they affect an app’s functionality. The cause could be something as simple as differing screen size, but the effects can range from visual errors, to complete functionality failure.

Ensure the App for NGO is Responsive. When an app is anything but seamless, users notice and it can have a significantly negative impact. Ensuring that your app runs as smoothly as possible on both desktop browsers and mobile devices will help keep users coming back. In addition to this, the app should be capable of continuing to run smoothly when under a high-stress load. If it’s to be used by thousands of people at once, the app needs to be able to handle the high amount of simultaneous traffic.

Stage 3: Onboarding and Keeping Users

Arguably the most important part of app development for charities is keeping the users you attract. There are 6 major strategies to accomplishing this, those being a one-time onboarding offer, a show of thanks towards volunteers, allowing users to be both co-operative and competitive, adding game mechanics, allowing users to create their own events and, finally, aiding users in organizing them. All of these together first draw in users, potentially making volunteers out of them, show them why they should keep using the app, appreciate them for doing so, then incentivize them to continue working with you. Accomplishing this will ensure that you always have a user base, which will, in turn, translate into increased public awareness of your app.

Stage 4: Advertising

Now that you’re the app is developed and ready for launch, you’ll need a way to advertise it. Conventional advertising can quickly become expensive and something that many NGO’s simply don’t have the necessary budget for. This is when word of mouth becomes your best friend, and you can easily take advantage of it by simply adding a share button to your app. Allowing users to share your app on social media means you get the publicity you need while still retaining your initial user base. This will allow your app to gather, and grow its community, making the world just a little bit better in the process. You can also use Swags printed like Custom T-shirts, Caps for promotion of new application to make it viral in the local community.

Features which can be integrated with NGO Mobile Apps:

a) Wearable Wristbands with NFC:

Wearable wristbands for Volunteers & benefits can be used as an authentication for Apps. We can certainly integrate wearable technology for a custom wearable application development specifically developed for NGOs.

b) Accessibility Enabled Platform:

Most of NGOs will be catering to the audiences which may need accessibility assistance due to certain age group or due to lack of digital literacy.

c) Chatbots Support:

Conversational commerce can help platform users to get used to with system efficiently. Let’s Nurture has all the expertise to build AI-ML based conversational Chatbots which can enhance the experience of the mobile app platform users.

d) Seamless Payment Integration:

Ideal user segment for NGO application would be Idealistic & full of Empathy. It would be absolutely necessary to create a seamless payment experience for these kinds of users to raise fund for the NGO applications.

Android Instant App is the solution for it. According to a survey, all across the world, over 500 million Android users have access to instant apps. “Great news for the startups! Yeah?” Let’s throw some lights on the Google Play Instant introduction, benefits, usage and development in this article.

Introduction to Instant Apps:

An Android Instant App is a Native Android app which can be tried by any user without installing it into the device. An easy way to keep user engagement activities with your Android App. The Android Studio 3.3 (beta release) has introduced this feature for the developer to build and publish an app to the play store which contains both Instant and dynamic features.

Advantages of Android Instant Apps:

Following are the benefits why Startups and Medium scale business entities should opt for having Instant Apps, even if they are having any existing mobile application:

  • More Exposure by letting users try before downloading the App
  • Instantaneous feedback
  • Get a wider user base by providing a good experience to those using low-end devices too
  • Let users share any App page on Social Media providing free buzz and traction
  • Make it easy for users of competitors app to see your app to try and convert them

Below are the steps to develop an Android instant App:

Step 1: Development environment set up

Below are the basic requirements to make ready a basic development environment for developing instant-enabled app bundles:

  • Android Studio version 3.3 or higher.
  • Google Play Instant Development SDK: You can get the latest SDK version from the SDK Tools tab within the Android SDK Manager.
  • Target device list: Google Instant can be tested using a physical or virtual device.

Step 2: Project configuration for android instant experiences

Instant-enabled app bundle needs a proper configuration to be compatible with Google Play Instant. Detailed explanation is given below.

Instant-enabled app modules

Following are the methods by which android developers can declare that your app bundle supports instant experiences:

  • While creating a new project in Android Studio, configure the project step, select the check box “This project will support instant apps”
  • For an existing application with only a base module, you only need to add the following declaration to the manifest of the module within the app bundle for the instant-enable application

<manifest … xmlns:dist=”http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android“>

<dist:module dist:instant=”true” />

</manifest>

Note: The default name for the base module of an app bundle is app. Any app which has multiple modules can be converted to instant-enabled dynamic feature module. By this method, you can have multiple instant entry points in your application.

Note: Maximum size for an instant-enabled app bundle is 10 MB which is the combination of the code and resource within the instant-enabled modules.

Permissions supported by Google Instant

Below is the list of eleven permissions which are supported by any android instant-enabled app bundles:

  1. ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
  2. ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
  3. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  4. BILLING – (deprecated in Play Billing Library V 1.0).

  6. INSTANT_APP_FOREGROUND_SERVICE – (this is available in Android 8.0 API level 26 and higher only).
  7. INTERNET
  8. READ_PHONE_NUMBERS – (this is available in Android 8.0 API level 26 and higher only).
  9. RECORD_AUDIO
  10. VIBRATE
  11. WAKE_LOCK

Finally, environment setup for execution

To provide additional security, instant-enabled app bundles can be executed by Google Instant within SELinux Sandbox. Your instant-enabled app bundle required following configuration to have compatibility with this specific environment:

  • usesCleartextTraffic needs to be set false within your configuration of Network Security. The value of myUid() is confidential (kernel-assigned UID of your app process).

Step 3: Build the instant app bundle

Very easy step to build an app bundle within the Android studio:

  • Selecting Build > Build Bundle(s) / APK(s) > Build Bundle(s).

Step 4: Google Instant app testing

Functionality verification of app’s instant experience is much needed before publishing it. The instant experience can be tested by publishing to the internal testing environment and on a local machine.

Before going live, let’s test on a local machine

Following are the steps to test the android app’s instant experience on a local machine:

  • Uninstall any occurrence of your app on your test device.
  • You need to enable the checkbox for “Deploy as instant app” under Run/Debug Configurations dialog -> General tab -> Installation options in your Android Studio 3.x.
  • You can either Select Run > Run in the menu bar, or click Run in the toolbar. After that, you need to choose the device from the list for testing your app’s instant experience. Check your test device to see the app’s instant experience.

Note: Minimum requirement, to run Instant experiences, is Android 5.0 (API level 21).

Publish and run on the internal testing environment

Publish your app on the Play console to test your instant app’s experience. Following are the steps to do so:

  1. Check out this guide to upload your application bundle: Upload your app bundle to the Play Console guide.
  2. How to prepare & roll out releases will help you to release your uploaded bundle to the internal test track.
  3. You need to sign in using a tester account on the testing device to launch your instant experience from one of the following surfaces:
  •   Play Store app listing will have the Try Now button.
  •    App’s Website will have a banner with a link.

Note: The maximum file size limit of 10 MB is not applicable when you are using Google Play’s internal test track as the size limit doesn’t apply on it.

Step 5: Publish your app bundle to the production track

Following are the steps to publish your instant-enabled app bundle:

  1. If you haven’t already, sign your app bundle with a release key and upload the app bundle to the Play Console.
  2. In the Play Console, open Release management > Android Instant Apps then navigates to the instant app production track.
  3. Select Update from Library, then select the instant-enabled app bundle that you’ve uploaded.
